Why are People Making A Big Deal Out of AI?
This is an argument that is mentioned a lot when people talk about AI and its impacts because AI has been around for a long time and only recently has become a controversial topic because of the improvements in AI and this is the main countering point. Technology is getting better nearly every day and AI has the potential to negatively impact artists and the work that they do. This is the part that makes me neglect AI and its impact on art and the entertainment industry. There are certain things that seem to be safe from AI and these are sports and things in the sporting industry like horse betting, it is hard to replace horses with AI horses and make it impactful. However, there are things like art in films and music that are starting to be affected by AI.
What Is The Most Worrying Part of AI?
I think AI in some of our favorite entertainment industries is where the line is crossed and people start to get worried about how AI is used and I am one of those people. We are already seeing AI being used in the film industry specifically and the repercussions and the backlash of this. The most recent example is from an Indie film called ‘Late Night With The Devil’ where the directors admitted to using AI art in the film and instantly regretted this as the backlash affected and ruined a lot of people’s experience. Personally, I really enjoyed the film, the performances were great and the story was original and fun, but my experience was affected because I knew some of the art I was seeing was done by AI when it could’ve been done by an independent artist that needs money and would’ve done a better job.
Why Should AI Worry Us?
This question is different depending on who you ask, there will be certain people who like AI and don’t care if it is used or not and there will be people who work on AI and want it to be used by everyone and these people won’t be worried by the use of AI but I am and as a creative business and a business that has expertise in all creative areas and who knows if this could be taken from us over the next few years.

Google has been trying to push away the use of AI and punishing the sites that use AI by dropping the sites and their rankings. This is a major positive and shows that people are refusing the use of AI and trying to reward the people who do the work themselves.
Could AI be Used Positively?
This wouldn’t be a fair piece if I spent the entire time belittling AI and its use. I do think AI can be used positively and there are some examples of AI uses that make even the biggest AI hater understand why it was used. One example of a positive use of AI is the reduction of human error, every piece of work will have some errors, even if it is the tiniest mistake that is hardly noticeable, not everything is perfect. But, AI can get a good array of information and structure it well with very few errors. Another example is the availability, as a writer myself I won’t always be available for writing and when my working hours are up, there is a large gap of time where something urgent is needed and I won’t be available to do it. AI is always available and there is always some quick work. In saying this, I think using AI is bad for the future of creative industries and should be used with caution.
