What if I run out?
Surely I can’t talk about this forever?
These questions plague the minds of every social media marketer. After all, they’re all valid. There is a finite number of things you can say about your niche. However, the number is huge. So huge that no one has reached it yet, and neither will you.
We all sometimes hit creative walls and think we’ve said all there is to say and we’ll never have an original thought again. The truth is that creative walls are temporary, and you still have more to say and show—you just don’t know it yet. Your mind may be blank at the moment, but with our tips, you’ll be able to get those creative juices flowing again. Enjoy!
We focus on direct response and customer acquisition in e-commerce, lead gen, and mobile. When it comes to results and leads, we speak your language.

Use your whole life for inspiration
If you want to boost your creativity, our best advice is to… just live your life. Read books, watch movies, meet people, hear their stories, travel. Life can be full of inspiration; you just have to open yourself to it.
Even a fiction book or a simple walk that has nothing to do with your niche can spark an idea in your head. Refreshing your mind with something unrelated to work can work wonders, and creative thoughts can come on their own.
Phones and notebooks are great for finding ideas without actually looking—when something comes to mind randomly, simply jot it down and come back to it later. We recommend getting an online note-taking app that you can access from both your smartphone and computer and setting it up as an idea notebook. That way, you’ll be able to access it anywhere, even while traveling. Use an eSIM online app to access the internet cheaply and without restrictions while abroad, and voilà—you have a way to save random ideas anywhere, anytime.

You don’t always have to be 100% original
It’s true that it can be difficult to find something that no one has said before… but in reality, it’s not that important. People value authenticity more than uniqueness. You don’t have to come up with posts, tips, and facts that no one thought about yet. In fact, there are probably not many of those left in the world.
Keep in mind that no one has seen everything the world has to offer. People are discovering new things all the time. You can be that new thing for some. Just because you consider something obvious or old doesn’t mean that others do, too. Not everything has to be completely new, even to you, and sometimes, an original perspective on an old topic is enough to spark someone’s interest.

Don’t be afraid to get a little personal
Many people prefer to see other people rather than products or dry facts. More personal content is a good filler when you have no idea what else to post. It creates authenticity, which, in turn, increases trust.
Viewers may be interested in who is behind the product they’re interacting with. It’s a good idea to show yourself from time to time. Post a selfie with the product, maybe a fun fact about you in connection to your brand, or maybe a refresher that’s completely about you and has nothing to do with your business… The possibilities are endless!

Let your audience decide
Social media is called social because it focuses on social interactions and communities. Comments, likes, and all kinds of interactions between creators and fans allow them to communicate and provide feedback. Use them!
Once in a while, take a look at your comments and other interactions and make a note of any questions your audience might ask. People like to be listened to, and can help you come up with ideas, so it’s a win-win.

Use testimonials
If you have no idea what to post, why not let someone else post it for you? Testimonials are great because they provide free content, serve as marketing materials, and boost trust.
If you have the opportunity, repost and share testimonials from satisfied customers (after asking their permission, of course). Each testimonial is a free post for a “no idea” day, plus it proves that your product is trustworthy and legitimate.

Don’t be afraid to repeat yourself
Remember what we said earlier? “No one has seen everything the world has to offer.” This is also true for your own content. Algorithms don’t show everything—people take social media breaks, their interests can fluctuate, and, of course, there are new viewers and customers. It’s good to sometimes repackage and repeat old ideas for the benefit of those who may not have seen them.
Our advice is to keep track of your posts and their performance. Every few months, check which posts have performed best and think about improving them or repackaging them into new content. As we mentioned earlier, content doesn’t always have to be 100% original to be interesting and engaging.

Use holidays
Holidays are great not only for celebration but also for generating free content ideas. Different holidays can be a good fit for your niche, depending on what you’re marketing. Don’t forget that there are plenty of holidays—not just Christmas and Thanksgiving, but also niche and fun ones like National Compliment Day or Fun at Work Day (which is also April Fool’s Day—just think of the content opportunities!).
Remember, beating the creative block in social media marketing isn’t about finding a never-ending stream of new ideas. Instead, it’s about looking at the world around you, engaging with your audience, and sometimes, simply repackaging and presenting your existing content in a new light!
