Whoever you get to optimize your website, though, that usually starts with keyword research. You or the agency you hire can use one of the many tools that exist today.

Work on Your Website’s Speed

You should take a look at how fast your website loads. Try to load it on laptops and desktops, but also on smartphones. Most people use their cell phones now when trying to find goods and services. 

If you see that your website doesn’t load within five seconds or so, you should find a web designer and have them look at it. Some marketing agencies will provide this service as well if you pay enough. 

You want lightning-fast website loading speed. If you can’t get that, you can feel certain some potential customers will experience frustration with your site and go with a different one instead. Most people who spend time online have very limited patience these days. 

Social Media

You can also use your social media profiles to get more people to come to your website and vice versa. Again, your social media profiles help form your sales funnel. 

Maybe you haven’t created any profiles yet. If so, you will certainly want to talk about that with your digital marketing agency. They can do some research and determine which social media platforms your most likely customers use. 

If you’re running a promotion on your website or something along those lines, mention it on your social media profiles and have anyone interested use a link to your website. When they arrive, if they find the site intuitive and easy to navigate, they will probably contact you when they need plumbing services. 

Ask for Reviews

You should also ask for reviews from customers whenever you finish a job. You can hand them a card, or better yet, you might send them an email with an easy link they can follow. Incentivize leaving a positive review by saying you will enter the customer into a drawing for an Amazon gift card, or maybe tell them you will give them $25 off their next service call if they leave some positive feedback. 

Once you get that positive review, post it on your website. That stands as powerful social proof that people like your services and would recommend your company. 

The more engaging you can make your site, the more new customers you will likely get. You should never underestimate your website’s power to persuade.
